Medical Marijuana – The Debate Rages On

Cannabis is also known as a potted plant, weed, and weed, but its official name is marijuana. It comes from the leaves and flowers of the Cannabis sativa plant. It is considered an illegal substance in the United States and many countries, and possession of marijuana is a criminal offense punishable by law.

The FDA places marijuana on Schedule I, a substance that has a very high potential for abuse and has no proven medical benefit. You can also purchase marijuana online at

Let's look at the questions that support why medical marijuana should be legalized.

(1) Cannabis is a natural herb and has been used as a herbal medicine for thousands of years from South America to Asia. Today, when all-natural and organic are all important health buzzwords, natural herbs like marijuana can be more attractive and safer for users than synthetic drugs.

(2) Cannabis has strong therapeutic potential. Several studies, as summarized in the IOM report, have found that cannabis can be used as an analgesic, e.g. to treat pain. Several studies have shown that THC, a component of marijuana, is effective in treating chronic pain in cancer patients.

(3) One of the main proponents of medical marijuana is the Marijuana Policy Project (MPP), a US-based organization. Many medical societies and organizations have expressed their support.

In short, the future of medical marijuana and the resolution of the debate will depend on more comprehensive and comparable research. IOM report update is required urgently.
